I get emails all the time asking if I shoot gals who are not perfect because all they see is perfect ladies on my website. I need to dispel the myth that anyone actually looks this perfect in real life. All ladies have something about themselves that they do not like…cellulite, stretch marks, scars, a little bulge here or there, acne, those last 10 lbs, etc. In this modern age, we do have the ability to apply a bit of magic to your images in our post production work flow; and we can give you a slight slimming in your arms, thighs, or tummy. I want the person whom you are gifting your images to still recognize you and for the editing to be slight and not overly noticeable, but I want to get rid of the things about yourself that you dislike if possible. So be reassured that even if you are not a Victoria Secret model, you are gorgeous and no matter what your size or shape, we can create very sexy images for you!! When someone asks you what size you are, tell them SIZE SEXY! You do not have to be a size 2 to rock a boudoir photography session at our studio. In fact, we see a lot of gals who are very curvy; and bra cups with the letter H have hung in our dressing room. Your beauty and sensuality are not marked by the number or letter on the label of your clothing. We use different posing and lighting for different body types, so that each woman’s best features are highlighted no matter what her shape or weight. Do not let the scale or society’s definition of beauty define you. You are truly beautiful, no matter what your weight or shape. This curvy woman came in to the studio and had a blast with us. We LOVED working with her, and her man was thrilled with his gift. I really do honestly shoot a ton of women who are not a size two. However, some of the curvier gals whom I have had the great pleasure of working with are more reluctant to feel comfortable with me sharing their images online. I do have a stack of model releases from clients that I have yet to post so I will have to sift through them for the ones that prove my statement! But for today I wanted to share this shoot that was done many months ago and have been meaning to post forever. This wonderful gal is a Mom and a successful business owner and a wife. You ladies amaze me at what you can accomplish and I am always so inspired by all of you when I meet you and learn about your life. She ended up with a huge metal print of the nude back with pearls image for her wall above her soaker tub in her new master bathroom. Making wall art is so fun! Of course she also purchased over 30 images in a Folio and I would love to show them all, but prefer to keep the “see through lace” ones (that were amazing) private for her hubby. Columbus Boudoir Photographer | He proposed !
This gal came in for a boudoir photography session; and then after a fabulous session with us , she went out on a first date with a guy who has turned out to be her best friend. She just sent along this email, a year later!
“Hi Angela,
I wanted to let you know that I finally gave the photos we did last fall to my boyfriend on our one-year anniversary yesterday (which was also a year after you and I worked together). He loved them (and of course wants more!) and I just wanted to thank you again. I’m sad that I can’t give you a model release because you deserve it for all your beautiful work, but I just can’t quite get comfortable with the thought of my photos being online. You can use one of the “shadowy” shots online because it’s hard to see my face. Thank you again for everything!
P.S. I may be back again sometime…because yesterday he also proposed, and I said yes!!!
We feel like we were a part of the magic of this new love! We always ask during the viewing session for written permission to use some of the images; but always tell our fabulous clients that we never post without permission and there is absolutely no pressure to give us that permission.
